Inquiry into falling blocks
AN investigation will be carried out into why concrete blocks fell from a South Townsville building on Monday afternoon.
Firefighters attended the scene on Tomlins St after a call from the public saying that concrete blocks had fallen from the second floor of the building.
Townsville City Council director of planning and community engagement Eber Butron said the council responded to a call from firefighters to a report of blocks being dislodged from the River Quays building.
“Council’s regulatory section will be carrying out further investigation with the building owner to safeguard public safety,” he said.
