Knife charge in road rage in­ci­dent

A RASMUSSEN man, 36, has been charged af­ter al­legedly pulling out a knife in a road rage in­ci­dent fol­low­ing a mi­nor car crash Kir­wan.

Act­ing Se­nior Sergeant Robert Dusha said po­lice were called to Thuringowa Drive about 10.30am yes­ter­day, where two ve­hi­cles col­lided.

“As a re­sult of that crash both ve­hi­cles have stopped on the side of the road and then al­legedly one oc­cu­pant of one of those ve­hi­cles has ex­ited ( and) waved a weapon, be­lieved to be a knife, in the di­rec­tion of the motorist and made some threats,” he said.

“He sub­se­quently re­turned to his ve­hi­cle and drove away.”

Sen- Sgt Dusha said it would be al­leged that the “road rage in­ci­dent was one- sided”.

A 36- year- old man was last night charged with com­mon as­sault, driv­ing with­out due care and at­ten­tion and fail­ing to sup­ply his name and ad­dress af­ter a crash.

A 44- year- old woman, who was a pas­sen­ger in the car, has been charged with pos­sess­ing a dan­ger­ous drug and pos­sess­ing drug uten­sils.

The driver of the other ve­hi­cle in­volved the crash was shaken but un­in­jured.
