Hovi’s big haul in top meet­ing

TUES­DAY night’s grey­hound meet at the show­grounds fea­tured nine great races in the first race meet­ing back af­ter a two- week break.

Trainer Harold Hovi had four dogs race for three win­ners and a sec­ond.

His first win­ner came in race one, the Angliss Meats Novice over 380m, with Arts scor­ing by four- and- a- half lengths in 22.22.

His sec­ond win­ner came in race five, the Bur­dekin Vet Ser­vices 5th Grade over 380m, with Su­per­for­mance scor­ing by two lengths in 22.36.

His third win­ner came in race six, the All Rig Lift­ing & En­gi­neer­ing 3/ 4th Grade over 380m, with Back Street Boy hold­ing on by un­der a length in 22.12.

Trainer Michael Fusco also got off to a good start when his newly ac­quired grey­hound Runya Down scored first up in race three, the Scoops Fish and Chips 5th Grade over 380m, with an eight- length win in a best of night run of 21.93.

Trainer Rhonda Essery also pro­duced three win­ners for the night.

Her first win­ner came in race four, the FV Napier 4/ 5th Grade over 380m, with Amy’s Elite scor­ing by just over a length in 22.44.

Race seven was the Lounds Fresh Seafood 4/ 5th Grade over 498m and Chips Ahoy scored by three quar­ters of a length in 29.32.

Her fi­nal win­ner was in race nine, the Kooloop Col­lars 5th Grade over 380m, with Go Prancer Go scor­ing by al­most three lengths in 22.17.
