Hero tour guide gored
A SAFARI tour guide has been gored by a buffalo while trying to protect another man under attack in the Northern Territory’s remote Arnhem Land.
The 61- year- old man was flown 600km from a location northwest of Numbulwar after he was attacked about 10.30am on Sunday, CareFlight said.
“The experienced safari tour guide suffered lacerations and suspected fractures,” a spokesperson said. “It is believed the buffalo charged at another man who had fallen to the ground when the tour guide put himself between the buffalo and the man.”
Local clinic staff picked up the injured man and drove for several hours to Numbulwar, where he was met by a flight nurse and taken to Royal Darwin Hospital.
