Record boost for Holt
TEENAGE sensation Isis Holt has defended her T35 100m world title in record time at the para- athletics championships in London.
The 16- year- old Australian ( right) ran 13.43 seconds in the final on Wednesday, eclipsing her previous world record by 0.14secs to take the gold medal. The performance surpassed her own expectations after recently recovering from a bout of tonsillitis.
“I wasn’t even sure if I’d be here in London, so to be able to come out here and run a time like that, I can’t get over that,” Holt said.
“Knowing that I can pull up and get results like that gives me confidence for the future.” It continues a stellar meet for Holt, who also won a second straight 200m title three days earlier.
