IT’S not every day children get to train with a NRL star but that dream has become reality at one Townsville school.

Southern Cross Catholic College have won the Bulletin’s Train with Morgo Challenge after students registered in their droves for the Townsville Running Festival’s 5km Junior Fun Run and Walk.

Students were urged to sign up for the Townsville Bulletin 5km Fun Run and Walk for the chance to meet Cowboys star Michael Morgan. The school which registered the highest percentage of students would win the prize. Southern Cross Catholic College business manager Rebecca Vecchio said there was a lot of excitement among students over the chance to have a training session with Morgan.

“It’s great that our students who are outstanding at rugby league and really love sport will have this chance,” she said.

“It’s great that Cowboys players make themselves available for these things so the kids have something to aspire to.”

The Townsville Running Festival is on August 6.
