BOY BOOK FAN GETS THE STORY

ALEXAN­DER Mun­day is only four, but he’s al­ready an avid reader.

Mum Shan­non Mun­day said Alexan­der was al­ready a big fan of to­day’s ad­di­tion to the The Great Aus­tralian Storybook Col­lec­tion, Pi­ran­has Don’t Eat Ba­nanas.

“His favourite is Pi­ran­has Don’t Eat Ba­nanas and he also loves any books about di­nosaurs,” she said.

“He loves go­ing to the Aitken­vale Li­brary and nd get­ting out fic­tion and non fic­tion books.”

Ms Mun­day said Al- exan­der was al­ways s go­ing to be a keen reader as his older sib­lings – Ara­bella, 9, Ben­jamin, 8, and Ni­cholas, 6 – also loved to read.

“I think hav­ing three older sib­lings who all read as well has en­cour­aged him,” she said. “They all value books. “I know it’s re­ally hard with tech­nol­ogy these days but we place a great em­pha­sis on read­ing.

“We have about books in this house.”

The 15 books in The Great Aus­tralian Storybook Col­lec­tion are avail­able to read­ers of the Townsville Bul­letin and The Sun­day Mail for just $ 2.30 each – with a token from each day’s news­pa­per – over the next fort­night.
