BOY BOOK FAN GETS THE STORY
ALEXANDER Munday is only four, but he’s already an avid reader.
Mum Shannon Munday said Alexander was already a big fan of today’s addition to the The Great Australian Storybook Collection, Piranhas Don’t Eat Bananas.
“His favourite is Piranhas Don’t Eat Bananas and he also loves any books about dinosaurs,” she said.
“He loves going to the Aitkenvale Library and nd getting out fiction and non fiction books.”
Ms Munday said Al- exander was always s going to be a keen reader as his older siblings – Arabella, 9, Benjamin, 8, and Nicholas, 6 – also loved to read.
“I think having three older siblings who all read as well has encouraged him,” she said. “They all value books. “I know it’s really hard with technology these days but we place a great emphasis on reading.
“We have about books in this house.”
The 15 books in The Great Australian Storybook Collection are available to readers of the Townsville Bulletin and The Sunday Mail for just $ 2.30 each – with a token from each day’s newspaper – over the next fortnight.
