Read all about it with Cowboys star
NORTH Queensland Cowboys winger Kyle Feldt thrilled some of his young fans when he called into his adopt- a- school this week.
Good Shepherd Catholic School students heard Feldt read to them in the school library before kicking the football around the oval.
Student Marychelle Sakaria, 11, said it had been a treat to have a high- profile Cowboys player stop in and have fun with them.
“When Kyle read the book to us he made it fun to listen to him read and he was very entertaining,” she said.
“He told us when he was young he would always compete with his sister to see who was better at reading and writing and they would have competitions about it.” Year 6 teacher Charley Favalli said it had been an engaging visit.
“The students appreciated his honesty about being once a struggling reader, ” Mrs Favalli said.
“He also opened up about his love for cookbooks and explained how his life is not always just about football and the importance also of a healthy lifestyle.”
