Amart Sports in Rebel shift

Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS -

SUPER Retail Group will convert its network of Amart Sports shops into new Rebel stores so it can focus on a single brand in its sports division. The sports, auto and camping goods retailer says the move, to be completed by October 31, will help it offer an expanded range of services at more locations, concentrate its investment and streamline its end- to- end supply chain. The company says there should be minimal impact to its workers with Amart Sports’ employees being redeployed and transferred directly to the newly converted Rebel stores.

Super Retail expects to reap $ 15 million worth of synergies and gross margin improvement over two years, but anticipates a one- off $ 34 million charge associated with the transformation in its FY17 accounts and some further costs in 2018.
