ELLA LOVES A GOOD BEDTIME STORY
GREAT AUSTRALIAN STORYBOOK COLLECTION TODAY’S BOOK TIME FOR BED
GENERATIONS of Australian children have grown up with the stories of author Mem Fox.
And Ella Berryman, 4, ( pictured) is one keen reader discovering the magic of the books for herself.
Today’s addition to the Townsville Bulletin and The Sunday Mail’s Great Australian Storybook Collection is Time For Bed, written by Fox and illustrated by Jane Dyer.
Ella’s mum, Sarah Berryman, said her daughterughter loved having books ooks read to her.
“Her favourite is actually Where Is s The Green Sheep? which is by Mem m Fox,” she said. “She also loves anything with the Disney princesses and there’s another book called Room on the Broom.”
Ms Berryman said she believed encouraging children to read helped with their learning skills and that her family always made it a priority. “We’ve read to her probably from about six months of age,” she said. “She also comes home from kindy talking about new stories.
“Whenever I’m picking her up, there’s always someone reading a story.”
