Hard drug use higher in bush
THE rate of hard drug use in parts of regional Queensland outstrips city centres, a disturbing report has found.
The National Wastewater Drug Monitoring Program report found methylamphetamine use was higher in parts of regional Queensland than in most city centres anywhere else in Australia.
However, the report, which is the second of its kind, found methylamphetamine overall appeared to be on the decline during the reporting period.
Meanwhile, the use of the deadly drug Fentanyl was found to be some of the highest in the country in regional Queensland, outstripping any city studied as part of the report.
