Hard drug use higher in bush

THE rate of hard drug use in parts of re­gional Queens­land out­strips city cen­tres, a dis­turb­ing re­port has found.

The Na­tional Wastewater Drug Mon­i­tor­ing Pro­gram re­port found methy­lam­phetamine use was higher in parts of re­gional Queens­land than in most city cen­tres any­where else in Aus­tralia.

How­ever, the re­port, which is the sec­ond of its kind, found methy­lam­phetamine over­all ap­peared to be on the de­cline dur­ing the re­port­ing pe­riod.

Mean­while, the use of the deadly drug Fen­tanyl was found to be some of the high­est in the coun­try in re­gional Queens­land, out­strip­ping any city stud­ied as part of the re­port.
