Holt ready for NBL pressure

Townsville Bulletin - - SPORT -

NEW Bullets US import Stephen Holt knows he must shoulder a great load this NBL season. And it is a responsibility he is relishing.

The classy guard arrived in Brisbane on Saturday and went through his medical assessment yesterday ahead of Bullets preseason training starting today

Holt was a star for Melbourne United in the 201516 NBL season alongside Bullets sharpshooter Daniel Kickert and has played in Spain and the Czech Republic since leaving the glamour club.

He was enticed back to the NBL after speaking to Bullets head coach Andrej Lemanis and Brisbane power forward Mitch Young — a former St Mary’s College teammate.

Holt knows that being an import in the NBL brings relentless pressure and welcomes the expectation.

“It is a big responsibility, day in, day out,” he said.

“You have to perform at a high level consistently.”
