A big win for Doohan junior

JACK Doohan, the 14- year- old son of Australian motorcycle legend Mick Doohan, has secured the biggest win of his European karting career.

Doohan won the Swedish leg of the European Championship in the OK- Junior class at Kristianstad yesterday. Starting on pole, Gold Coast product Doohan finished his 21 laps more than two seconds clear of his nearest rival on a wet track.

Doohan finished the fiverace series third and he’ll now turn his attention to the world championships in England in September. He has his sights set on a career in Formula One, beginning his path by winning the Australian karting championship in 2015 and 2016.
