CHALLENGE OF CAPRAS BIG THREAT
THE Central Capras might be ranked last on the Queensland Cup ladder but the Townsville Blackhawks know they’re not in the position to take anyone lightly in the run to the finals.
The Blackhawks will travel to Rockhampton to face the Capras on Saturday night for what shapes as a must- win clash after losing their past two in a row.
Coach Kristian Woolf has named an unchanged team from last weekend’s 28- 22 loss to the Burleigh Bears, with prop Oshae Tuiasau expected to overcome an ankle sprain. Errors have cruelled Townsville’s finals charge during the past fortnight, which was also when they last played the Capras at Jack Manski Oval in May, with the home side only snatching a 26- all draw when Carlin Anderson nailed a sideline conversion after the siren.
The Blackhawks have a strong for- and- against which should help their playoff hopes, but they can’t afford to slip up against the Capras with tough games against Papua New Guinea and Sunshine Coast still to come.
Blackhawks team: 1 Carlin Anderson, 2 Paul Byrnes, 3 Jordan Drew, 4 Davin Crampton, 5 Jonathon Reuben, 14 Kierran Moseley, 7 Kyle Laybutt, 22 Oshae Tuiasau, 9 Anthony Mitchell, 10 Francis Molo, 11 Blake Leary, 12 Andrew Niemoeller, 17 Daniel Beasley, 8 Sam Hoare, 15 Jordan Kenworthy, 16 Kieran Quabba, 19 Sam Foster.
MATCH FIT: Blackhawks forward Oshae Tuiasau has been named to take on the Capras.
