A NEW boutique wedding fair willill hit Townsville next month.

The Hitch and Blossom Wedding Fair is the newest addition to the city’s wedding scene. The event is the brainchild of local designer Crystal Maruna, who makes bow ties for her label Jumble Culture By Tilly Fluf.

Ms Maruna said selling the bow ties at many different wedding fairs led to her seeing a gap in Townsville’s matrimony market.

“The concept is intended to be something fresh, creative and innovative with a festival vibe,” she said.

“I have attended lots of wedding fairs down south and I wanted to bring something like that here.

“I’ve been a part of the excitement and the vibe at some great events.”

The event will bring together all things related to weddings, including dresses, cakes, floral backdrops, lawn games and more.

Ms Maruna said couples could mix and match different styles to make their perfect wedding day.

“There may be a little bit of boho in the wedding dress but a really simple elegance at the venue,” she said. “We just want to bring loved up couples, their family and friends together with talented wedding vendors.”

Hitch and Blossom will take place on September 16- 17 at Quayside Teminal in South Townsville. Tickets are available from hitchandblossom. com. au
