Gay politicians’ blatant self- interest

Townsville Bulletin - - OPINION -

THE federal Liberals have at least four gay men pushing their personal agenda of a same- sex marriage vote in parliament against the will of the electorate and against a government promise to hold a vote of the people – a plebiscite.

These four dismiss a principled approach to decision making on an issue that impacts a key foundation of so- ciety. They lack any backbone to prosecute an argument, won’t stand up to the LBGTIQ lobbyists and bullies, and they demonstrate a flagrant conflict of interest.

If these four men owned coal mines and were pushing for changes to mining laws where they would receive personal gain, there would be national outrage, and rightly so.

Let’s stand up against the growing cabal of self- interest driven politicians and drive them out of the parliament.

Let us carefully seek out those who will fight for Australians and Australia, who put the national interest first, not themselves.

ROD McGARVIE, Queensland Director, Australian Conservatives.
