Burdekin bracing for Brothers
BURDEKIN will be hoping to cap this weekend’s 40th anniversary celebrations in style when they host Brothers in a top- four TDRU clash at Casalegno Field this afternoon.
Queensland Reds head coach Nick Stiles was the special guest last night as the Canetoads celebrated their fourdecade milestone, but they’ll be all business on the field as they look to seal a finals berth.
Burdekin is coming off a hard- fought 19- point win over Charters Towers last weekend and they look well- placed in third on the ladder, but a win over Brothers would make a huge statement. Brothers are just one win behind defending premiers Teachers West in the minor premiership race and they blew North Ward off the park last weekend in a dominant 66- point victory.
In today’s other games, North Ward will be looking to stay in touch with the top four by springing an upset over the powerhouse Teachers West at Warrina Park.
Ross River will host Charters Towers at Bindal Sports Ground.
Both sides will be out to snare a confidence- boosting win before the end of the season.
