Premier out to recover lost ground

Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS -

ANNASTACIA Palaszczuk is set to become the high- vis premier in the lead up to the next state election in a move to try to recharge her popularity.

Ms Palaszczuk, who toured a battery factory in Ipswich yesterday, said she was unconcerned about her declining approval rating in a recent poll and was more worried about helping Queensland battlers.

“I have been out here meeting with the workers – they’re saying to me ‘ keep going and keep working hard’,” she said.

A Galaxy poll published in The Sunday Mail found Ms Palaszczuk’s support had slumped from 47 per cent, after Cyclone Debbie, to just 39 per cent. The Premier will visit the Ekka this Friday and Cabinet will meet there the following Monday. She is also expected at the famous Mount Isa Rodeo this weekend.

Ms Palaszczuk said she would keep travelling across the state.
