Fast Fisher leads with triple treat

LO­CAL rider Heath Fisher has taken a stran­gle­hold on the 50cc auto di­vi­sion ti­tle af­ter sweep­ing the open­ing round of the Yamaha Queens­land Mo­tocross Cham­pi­onships at Townsville Mo­tor­cy­cle Club on Satur­day.

Fisher won all three races to take a sig­nif­i­cant lead head­ing into the sec­ond and fi­nal round at Tivoli on Au­gust 26 and 27.

In the 12- 13 years mini lites, lo­cal rider and de­fend­ing cham­pion Zac Wat­son is in sec­ond place over­all, while brothers An­gus Hawkins ( mini lites 14- 15 years) and Lach­lan Hawkins ( 65cc 10- 11 years) are third in their re­spec­tive classes.

Cody Hall is also com­ing third in the se­niors 125cc di­vi­sion af­ter the open­ing round.
