MUSIC lovers are gearing up to enjoy some of North Queensland’s best jazz and blues bands.

The annual event, Jazz at the Headlands, will be held at the Townsville Picnic Bay Surf Lifesaving Club on The Strand tomorrow.

Organiser Vicki Salisbury said she was looking forward to a relaxing Sunday on The Strand and was excited the event had returned to the club for the second year.

“Holding the annual jazz festival here by the water is just stunning,” she said.

“It’s really a festival for everyone from families to seniors as they can all bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the live music.

“Amazing jazz musicians, great food, a licensed bar and a stunning location, what more do you need for a relaxing Sunday afternoon?”

The lifesaving club and the Townsville Jazz Club have guaranteed an afternoon of great music with acts including the Stokes Nicholson Big Band, Freaky Bizness, PMJB and jazz combos ranging from trad ( traditional) and Dixieland to swing and fusion.
