CELEBRATING OUR DIVERSITY
STOP cooking and get down to the Townsville Cultural Festival this weekend.
That’s the message from the festival’s executive director, Dr Farvardin Daliri, who said there was enough food there to feed “all of Townsville”.
Dr Daliri said today’s festival would be a melting pot of Australian cultural heritage and diversity.
“From one end of the festival to the other – every step you’ll find a colour, a smell, taste and music,” he said.
“It will be rapidly changing the whole day from 10am until 1pm.
“Every part will be fascinating and diverse. Today and tomorrow we’ve got a huge lineup of music and acts.”
The festival is taking place at the James Cook University campus in Douglas.
