Anger over train or­deal

PRE­MIER An­nasta­cia Palaszczuk is call­ing for Queens­land Rail to apol­o­gise to ev­ery pas­sen­ger left trapped on a train for al­most three hours but stopped short of call­ing for heads to roll.

Dozens of peo­ple could do noth­ing but sit and wait, mostly in the dark, on Fri­day night as their train on the Ferny Grove line came to a stand­still be­tween sta­tions.

Pas­sen­gers vented their anger about their or­deal on so­cial me­dia and re­ported some on board had re­sorted to uri­nat­ing in the car­riage be­cause of the wait. Queens­land Rail blamed the fault on a fly­ing fox that had come into con­tact with the over­head lines.

The in­ci­dent comes just two weeks af­ter a pos­sum caused a fault that de­layed trains across the south­east rail net­work.
