ANTI- ADANI activists have arrived in Bowen for their week of protests after road- tripping from southern states.
Mullumbimby activist Murray “Muzz” Dreschler is among the protesters who travelled up in a truck after crowdfunding to pay for fuel.
A crowd- funding page has raised more than $ 900 of their $ 1200 goal, the amount Dreschler said was needed to cover their trip.
“When this is covered the 10 kick- arse activists won’t be out of pocket to the tune of $ 120 a seat, being grassroots we are all very poor because we spend most of our money on doing direct action,” he wrote on the page.
“This crowd- funder will mean they can spend money on court costs, food, etc.” With residents in Bowen climbing trees to take down anti- Adani signs that have sprung up in the last few days, it’s probably fair to say the activists may not be receiving a warm welcome in town.
