Adani to be­gin rail link work

ADANI will break ground within days to mark the of­fi­cial start of work on their rail link.

It comes af­ter re­ports fund­ing for the Carmichael coal mine could be de­layed for months af­ter the com­pany said it hoped to have every­thing in place by the end of March.

Adani chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer and Coun­try Head Jeyaku­mar Janakaraj said the mine and rail project were ad­vanc­ing on many fronts with works in­clud­ing sur­vey­ing, geotech­ni­cal works, de­tailed de­sign­ing, cul­tural her­itage and fi­nanc­ing be­ing un­der­taken.

“Ev­ery day we are mov­ing for­ward,” he said.

“Mile­stones are achieved ev­ery day.

“Our pre- con­struc­tion works are well ad­vanced.

“We have pre- con­struc­tion teams work­ing at the mine site and along the rail cor­ri­dor do­ing cul­tural her­itage in­spec­tions and record­ings.

“We will break ground within days to mark the of­fi­cial start of work on the rail link and we re­main con­fi­dent and com­mit­ted to de­liver first coal in March 2020.

“We also still have ma­jor con­tract an­nounce­ments in com­ing weeks.” be­ing
