Adani to begin rail link work
ADANI will break ground within days to mark the official start of work on their rail link.
It comes after reports funding for the Carmichael coal mine could be delayed for months after the company said it hoped to have everything in place by the end of March.
Adani chief executive officer and Country Head Jeyakumar Janakaraj said the mine and rail project were advancing on many fronts with works including surveying, geotechnical works, detailed designing, cultural heritage and financing being undertaken.
“Every day we are moving forward,” he said.
“Milestones are achieved every day.
“Our pre- construction works are well advanced.
“We have pre- construction teams working at the mine site and along the rail corridor doing cultural heritage inspections and recordings.
“We will break ground within days to mark the official start of work on the rail link and we remain confident and committed to deliver first coal in March 2020.
“We also still have major contract announcements in coming weeks.” being
