All Blacks in­spire Kid­well’s Ki­wis

AF­TER spend­ing time with the All Blacks, David Kid­well is now us­ing se­crets from the world’s best rugby team in his cam­paign to pull off a World Cup shock win for the Ki­wis.

“I had a lovely op­por­tu­nity to go in when they played the Bledis­loe Cup in Syd­ney.

“The con­nec­tion there was ( men­tal skills coach) Gil­bert Enoka. He was a for­mer teacher and vol­ley­ball teacher of mine – I’ve got great re­spect for the guy,” Kid­well said.

“I was really blown away with how play­er­driven the All Blacks en­vi­ron­ment is. “That was a real eye- opener. They really en­joy them­selves in that en­vi­ron­ment – I got a lot out of it.

“I’ve al­ready started to do some of the been do­ing.

“I looked at chang­ing our train­ing, from the times to what parts of the day. Your dou­ble days, where you train twice a day, tra­di­tion­ally two days out from the game we have off, then you have your cap­tain’s run, then you play.
