Free chips for furry friends

Townsville Bulletin - - NEWS -

A FREE microchipping day for dogs and cats will be held tomorrow in Kirwan.

Townsville City Council is running the event to promote responsible pet ownership.

Community Health and Environment Committee chair Councillor Ann- Maree Greaney said the council was making it easier for residents to keep their pets safe.

“No bookings are required to bring a pet along, and all registered dogs and approved cats over the age of eight weeks are eligible,” she said.

For pets that are not registered, owners can take advantage of on- the- spot registration.

Once registered, pets are then eligible for free microchipping.

The event is from 8- 11am at Mountview Dog Park, Bamford Lane, Kirwan.
