Tui no tour certainty
WALLABIES coach Michael Cheika expects to hear this week if backrower Lukhan Tui will make himself available for the spring tour to the UK and Europe.
Tui pulled out from the side’s recent matches in South Africa and Argentina after he was involved in a scuffle with a fan following their loss to the Pumas on the Gold Coast last month.
The 22- year- old Queenslander was distraught following the death of his stepfather in the lead up to the Test, with abuse from a drunk supporter sparking an ugly confrontation.
Cheika said he’d spoken with Tui but so far hadn’t received any assurance he wanted to resume his rugby career.
“I’ve spoken to him and am trying to cajole him back into the saddle because I think it’s good for him and for his family that he gets back to doing what he loves,” Cheika told Fox Sport.
