Lightning hope to strike at home

- REECE HOMFRAY

THE Adelaide 36ers won’t be there in person but they’ll be cheering for the Lightning all the way from Perth in game two of the WNBL grand final series tomorrow night.

“Unfortunately we travel to Perth on Wednesday so I can’t get to the game but we’ll have it on the TV for sure,” 36ers guard Jack Mcveigh said.

“I try to go to as many games as I can during the season but sometimes it’s tough with our schedule and theirs crossing over, and this is one of those times.

“But I’ve been to about five games this season and hopefully they can get the win in their last home game this week. They’ve had an up and down season, so it’s been awesome to see them play finals.”

The Lightning trails the UC Capitals 0-1 in their best-ofthree game series after going down 88-67 in game one in Canberra on Saturday night.

But everyone from coach Chris Lucas and co-captain Nicole Seekamp down believe they can bounce back in game two, and Mcveigh thinks they can do it with the home court advantage.

“They weren’t expected to win the last semi-final against Melbourne and pulled it out, so anything is possible,” he said.

“Going in with the home crowd is huge, the daily routine of being at home is huge. They’ll go in with a different game plan and I think they’re going to pull this one out.”

Game two is on tomorrow at Adelaide Arena from 6.30pm.
