OZZIE WRIGHT BY OTIS CAREY

Tracks - - Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants -

I think the most attractive thing about Ozzie’s surfing is his attitude while on a wave. He's a hundred miles an hour and all about having fun while bashing the shit out of every section of every wave. If you've ever been in the water with Oz you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. It’s so hard not to adopt that same attitude and I guess that’s why he's influenced so many people over the years and continues to inspire people of all walks of life. For me personally the biggest thing that I've always loved about Ozzie is his no fucks given attitude while having a hell time. It's really refreshing to watch and it never gets old or boring. If you look back on surfing, it’s hard to leave Ozzie out of the picture. He's one of those main guys that brought the rock'n’roll attitude to surfing. I'm sure most people would agree that his section in DopedYouth is hands down the rawest, no-fucks-given film section of our generation. I've probably seen that one clip over 300 times and I'm still not bored. And that’s the thing with Ozzie, he's never going to be boring even if he tries. On a more personal level, it's a beautiful thing to see your mates become fathers. He loves his family so much. I love watching him love. It’s one thing to watch a man love his family but it’s another thing to watch him love his friends. He has so much love and time for people and I really respect him for that and admire that side of him.
