Not all surf photographers are as cool about giving away their hard-earned secrets. Some figure it took them years to learn the right settings and positioning so why give a new guy a head start. It’s become a popular field for hobbyists and semi-pro shooters while the avenues for making coin are shrinking. Ord doesn’t mind sharing his knowledge and encouraging the next generation. “I don’t see it like that because if people go to workshops they get inspired for a week or so. The one per cent that are going to take it and go all the way will do it anyway. They will become your competitors anyway without your help. So you help them out and you never know they may be able to help you in the future.”
