Ben­e­fits for CLIA mem­bers

Who would have thought that your an­nual CLIA Mem­ber­ship would trans­late into thou­sands of dol­lars worth of sav­ings each year? As part of a ma­jor over­haul of our mem­ber­ship pro­gram, travel agents can now re­ceive a range of ex­cit­ing new ben­e­fits. Un­der the re­vamped pro­gram, which came into ef­fect on Jan­uary 1, CLIA mem­ber travel agents can en­joy di­rect ben­e­fits from CLIA mem­ber cruise lines as well as ev­ery­day dis­counts from scores of ma­jor re­tail­ers across Aus­tralia and New Zealand, rang­ing from su­per­mar­kets and cin­e­mas to ho­tels and restau­rants and in­clud­ing big names such as Wool­worths, Coles, West­field, JB Hi-fi and Tar­get. With ac­cess to core train­ing mod­ules and key elec­tives now in­cluded in CLIA’S travel agent mem­ber­ship fee, it’s far more ac­ces­si­ble for agency staff to be­come cruise spe­cial­ists. We wanted to make it eas­ier for agents to im­prove their cruise knowl­edge and make the most of our boom­ing cruise mar­ket, and we’re thrilled with the new struc­ture. It couldn’t come at a bet­ter time with the sum­mer cruise sea­son hit­ting its peak. In Fe­bru­ary alone 27 dif­fer­ent ships made an ex­tra­or­di­nary 45 calls to Syd­ney - while in March, 17 ships will make 33 calls to the har­bour city in just 30 days. The di­verse ar­ray of ves­sels range from bou­tique lux­ury ships to mag­nif­i­cent ocean lin­ers. This sea­son has seen some of the most im­pres­sive ves­sels afloat cruis­ing our wa­ters with sev­eral of the world’s most in­ti­mate and lux­u­ri­ous ships turn­ing heads in Aus­tralia. The lux­ury end of the scale opens up a whole new mar­ket for cruise agents. With the 15th An­nual Cruise In­dus­try Awards now be­hind us, the fo­cus for CLIA is the de­liv­ery of our third Cruise3sixty down un­der on Fri­day May 6. Cruise3sixty Aus­trala­sia will fea­ture an in­spir­ing line-up of lo­cal and in­ter­na­tional pre­sen­ters as well as an ex­ten­sive B2B trade show show­cas­ing ma­jor sup­pli­ers and the lat­est de­vel­op­ments in the fast-grow­ing cruise in­dus­try. We’re ex­pect­ing a cross-sec­tion of cruise fo­cused pro­fes­sion­als from right across Aus­tralia and New Zealand in­clud­ing front line travel con­sul­tants, own­ers, man­agers and CLIA Ex­ec­u­tive Part­ners. Cruise3sixty is with­out a doubt the best op­por­tu­nity of the year to meet face-to-face with your peers in the cruise in­dus­try as we nav­i­gate a pros­per­ous course for the fu­ture. With se­nior cruise in­dus­try ex­ec­u­tives in at­ten­dance from around the world we will be in­cor­po­rat­ing the launch of the 2015 source mar­ket re­port as part of the morn­ing ses­sion.
