More bul­let trains for Ja­pan

JA­PAN’S al­ready fa­mous bul­let trains are set to pro­vide even more con­ve­nient links across the coun­try. Ex­ten­sions are planned for the Shinkansen net­work which will make it eas­ier to travel be­tween ma­jor cities and re­gions of Ja­pan. The most re­cent ad­di­tion, planned for com­ple­tion in March this year, is the Hokkaido train which will con­nect the main is­land of Hon­shu to Hokkaido, the north­ern­most is­land of Ja­pan. Known for its ski fields around Sap­poro, the Hokkaido train will make it even eas­ier to visit th­ese ar­eas, pre­vi­ously only ac­ces­si­ble by plane for most vis­i­tors. An ex­ten­sion of the Kyushu Shinkansen to Na­gasaki is also planned for the fu­ture but is not ex­pected to be com­pleted un­til 2022.
