SIN­GA­PORE will be lit up this month for the Deepavali Fes­ti­val on 29 Oc­to­ber, a world­wide Hindu cel­e­bra­tion mark­ing the tri­umph of good over evil, light over dark­ness. Sin­ga­pore’s Lit­tle In­dia is the place to be dur­ing the fes­tiv­i­ties with the area trans­formed into a won­der­land of colour­ful arches and lights com­plete with flower gar­lands and bazaars. The fun stretches from Selegie Road all the way through Seran­goon Road. Food is also a ma­jor part of Deepavali cel­e­bra­tions and Sin­ga­pore, you can ex­pect to see dishes on of­fer such as deep-fried dough cov­ered in syrup, rice­flour pan­cakes, lentil cakes, yo­gurts, and sweets.
