New week in Por­tu­gal

TOUR op­er­a­tor Tauck is ex­pect­ing Por­tu­gal to be a hot des­ti­na­tion for 2017, with trav­ellers ea­ger to ex­pe­ri­ence the Ibe­rian Penin­sula’s “vi­brant cul­ture, his­tory and nat­u­ral beauty”. Tauck has added the new itin­er­ary A Week in Por­tu­gal to next year’s de­par­tures to feed this de­mand. High­lights of the jour­ney in­clude vis­its to seven UNESCO World Her­itage Sites, two nights at the Freixo Palace Ho­tel, a restored 18th-cen­tury palace in Porto, wine tast­ings in the Douro Val­ley and a wine cel­lar in Gaia and olive oil tast­ing at one of Por­tu­gal's top olive oil farms. The trip will also in­clude a fado mu­sic per­for­mance at the Palace Ho­tel Monte Real and a visit to the Na­tional Tile Mu­seum. The seven-night jour­ney leads in at $4,490 per per­son in­clud­ing re­turn air­port trans­fers, 18 meals, all pri­vate guided ex­cur­sions and a bonus night at Freixo Palace Ho­tel, Porto, be­fore the tour or at the In­ter­con­ti­nen­tal Lis­bon to en­joy af­ter the tour.
