Mel­bourne to host 50 Best

MEL­BOURNE has been named as the host city for next year’s World’s 50 Best Restau­rants awards. It is only the se­cond time the event has been held out­side of Lon­don, with New York the only other city to have the hon­our of host­ing the highly es­teemed event. The night of nights, where the best restau­rants in the world for 2017 are re­vealed, will be held at Mel­bourne’s his­toric Royal Ex­hi­bi­tion Build­ing on Wed­nes­day, 05 April. The elite of the culi­nary world will de­scend on the Vic­to­rian cap­i­tal for the cel­e­bra­tions. The week from 31 March to 09 April will be a buzzing time for the city with a plethora of epi­curean ac­tiv­i­ties and events be­ing held such as once-in-a-life­time mas­ter­classes fea­tur­ing some of the 50 best chefs. The awards tie in neatly with Tourism Aus­tralia’s global fo­cus on pro­mot­ing the coun­try’s ex­cep­tional culi­nary ex­pe­ri­ences, through its Restau­rant Aus­tralia cam­paign.
