Lang­ham re­veals first Cordis ho­tel

Lang­ham Place Mongkok to be re­named un­der new up­scale brand... The Lang­ham Place Mongkok in Hong Kong will be­come a Cordis ho­tel this month, mark­ing the launch of the com­pany's new up­scale brand.

Fol­low­ing a re­cent ren­o­va­tion, the Cordis Hong Kong will of­fi­cially de­but on 26 Au­gust, dec­o­rated with more than 1,500 pieces of con­tem­po­rary Chi­nese art, val­ued at over HK$35 mil­lion (US$4.5m). The prop­erty will of­fer 664 rooms and suites, all equipped with smart­phones, plus a new­lyre­fur­bished Club Lounge on the 36th floor.

There are four F&B op­tions, in­clud­ing the Miche­lin-starred Can­tonese res­tau­rant, Ming Court, plus a rooftop pool, 24-hour fit­ness cen­tre, a spa and 16 meet­ing rooms. The ho­tel is also di­rectly con­nected to the Lang­ham Place Shop­ping Mall.

“The launch of Cordis Hong Kong is a sig­nif­i­cant mile­stone in our long-term growth plan to in­tro­duce Cordis ho­tels and re­sorts across the re­gion,” said Robert War­man, CEO of Lang­ham Hos­pi­tal­ity Group. “Each Cordis ho­tel will be in­di­vid­ual in style, ar­chi­tec­ture and de­sign, all of which will be re­flec­tive of its lo­ca­tion and cul­ture, and tai­lored to the re­quire­ments of our guests, from cor­po­rate trav­ellers to honeymooners to multi-gen­er­a­tional fam­i­lies. For ex­am­ple, Cordis, Hong Kong is vi­brant, mod­ern, and fea­tures fam­ily-friendly fa­cil­i­ties and ameni­ties that com­ple­ment its bustling neigh­bour­hood,” he added.

An­nounced glob­ally ear­lier this year, Cordis de­rives its name from the Latin term mean­ing “heart”. Ac­cord­ing to Lang­ham, the brand will fo­cus on pro­vid­ing “in­tu­itive ser­vice, con­nec­tiv­ity, so­phis­ti­ca­tion and a sense of com­mu­nity”.

Lang­ham has also signed letters of in­tent for ho­tels in a fur­ther seven

T des­ti­na­tions over the next three years, in­clud­ing five ho­tels in China and one each in Bali and Colombo. Other tar­geted cities in­clude Lon­don, New York, Mi­ami, Los An­ge­les, Or­lando, San Fran­cisco, Dubai, Sin­ga­pore and Bangkok.
