Third voco deal for Aus­tralia

IHG has an­nounced a third voco-branded ho­tel will open in Aus­tralia since the brand’s global launch in Jun.

The com­pany has inked a deal with real es­tate com­pany Brady Group for the voco Mel­boune Cen­tral.

The 252-room ho­tel will be part of the “380 Mel­bourne” sky­scraper, and is sched­uled to open its doors in Jul 2020.

Its rooms will fea­ture lux­ury fit­ting such as high qual­ity show­ers, “in­dul­gent” beds and “user-friendly” tech­nol­ogy.

“We’re thrilled to part­ner with Brady Group to bring the third voco to Aus­tralia as part of the spec­tac­u­lar 380 Mel­bourne de­vel­op­ment,” said IHG Se­nior Di­rec­tor of De­vel­op­ment – Aus­trala­sia Ab­hi­jay Sandilya.

“The sign­ing...com­ple­ments our up­com­ing voco Gold Coast, the first voco in the world when it opens later in 2018,” he added.

voco launched in Jun this year with am­bi­tions of strength­en­ing IHG’s of­fer­ing in the $40 bil­lion up­scale seg­ment, which is an­tic­i­pated to grow by an­other $20 bil­lion by 2025.

voco Mel­bourne Cen­tral will be lo­cated at 380 Lonsdale Street, nearby Bourke Street Mall and Mel­bourne Cen­tral.
