Readers’ letters: we want to know what you’re talking about.

AT ALMOST 74, I’m a lifelong marathon runner; in fact I’m one of the final 12 Ever Presents – runners who have completed every single London Marathon since it started in 1981.

I only started following triathlon after watching the 2012 Olympic Triathlon in Hyde Park.

After completing the Brownlee Tri at Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire the following year, I was hooked.

Soon afterwards, my wife and I were lucky enough to be left a few pounds in a will and have spent it following the ITU World Series. We’ve been to some great places including Madrid , Kitzbuhel, Cape Town, Abu Dhabi, Hamburg, Stockholm and Chicago, and met some great people.

In 2014, I won a competition to be the runner on Jonny’s team at the Brownlee Tri. I think everyone felt sorry for me as I was 72!

I’m aiming for this year’s Brownlee event at Harewood House on 24 September. However, my swimming isn’t the strongest. Would any readers like a free, (I will pay the entry fee) fun day out doing the swim and cycle legs of the relay, while I do the run? If you’re interested contact me on charles.cousens333@btinter Len (Charles) Cousens, Lowestoft, Suffolk

Editor says: Wow, Len, 36 London Marathons and taking up triathlon at 72 – you’re incredible! We’re sure our readers would be honoured to join your team. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
