It’s much more than the fact she is an elegant and sophisticated business dynamo behind a cosmetics empire. That’s all part of image Sonia has built up as a shield to keep people both guessing about her, and as far away as possible.
And that is just where she wants the other prisoners to remain once she is admitted to the prison, on remand for the suspected murder of her best friend. The police have gathered enough circumstantial evidence to charge her with murder, and she is now awaiting trial.
“The thing about Sonia is you just know with her that not all is as it seems,” Sigrid Thornton tells TV SOAP. “She is very different to the other prisoners and is prepared to stand out from the crowd as an outsider.
“She is not intimidated at all by her new environment and is prepared to go along for the ride for as long as she must. Sonia regards this remand stay as only temporary – almost like a passing fascination.”
