An en­emy re­turns

Robin bonds with the daugh­ter she gave up for adop­tion but is threat­ened by a neme­sis from her time in New Zealand

The China Girl case takes a shock­ing turn when Robin pur­sues the the­ory that the mur­dered sex worker was a sur­ro­gate mother. How­ever Robin nds her­self hav­ing to deal with the rami cations of a past in­ves­ti­ga­tion when Al Parker ar­rives in town.

Al (David Wen­ham) was the de­tec­tive Robin (Elis­a­beth Moss) was teamed up with while in­ves­ti­gat­ing the dis­ap­pear­ance of 12-year-old preg­nant girl Tui (Jac­que­line Joe) in New Zealand four years ago. In the process of track­ing down the girl Robin was dis­turbed to dis­cover Al op­er­at­ing a pae­dophile ring from his house. Now Al is threat­en­ing to make a case against Robin but she isn’t fazed. She’s fo­cused on gur­ing out who killed China Girl, the sex worker whose body washed up on Bondi Beach. Robin also has more per­sonal mat­ters to deal with in­clud­ing her bi­o­log­i­cal daugh­ter’s trou­bles. Mary’s (Alice En­glert) adop­tive par­ents Ju­lia (Nicole Kid­man) and Pyke (Ewen Les­lie) are so fright­ened by Mary’s plans to marry her strange older boyfriend Puss (David Den­cik) that they are in­ves­ti­gat­ing him. Puss

Af­ter an epic con­fronta­tion Puss is fu­ri­ous and so is Mary, who takes off. With nowhere else to turn, Ju­lia and Pyke ask Robin for help. Robin is lov­ing her time with Mary since meet­ing her re­cently but she’s nd­ing that there is so much more to be­ing a mother than she ever re­alised.

And Robin may soon nd Mary needs her more than ever be­fore as dis­turb­ing links be­tween Puss and the case emerge. TVS
