Robin bonds with the daughter she gave up for adoption but is threatened by a nemesis from her time in New Zealand
The China Girl case takes a shocking turn when Robin pursues the theory that the murdered sex worker was a surrogate mother. However Robin nds herself having to deal with the rami cations of a past investigation when Al Parker arrives in town.
Al (David Wenham) was the detective Robin (Elisabeth Moss) was teamed up with while investigating the disappearance of 12-year-old pregnant girl Tui (Jacqueline Joe) in New Zealand four years ago. In the process of tracking down the girl Robin was disturbed to discover Al operating a paedophile ring from his house. Now Al is threatening to make a case against Robin but she isn’t fazed. She’s focused on guring out who killed China Girl, the sex worker whose body washed up on Bondi Beach. Robin also has more personal matters to deal with including her biological daughter’s troubles. Mary’s (Alice Englert) adoptive parents Julia (Nicole Kidman) and Pyke (Ewen Leslie) are so frightened by Mary’s plans to marry her strange older boyfriend Puss (David Dencik) that they are investigating him. After an epic confrontation Puss is furious and so is Mary, who takes off. With nowhere else to turn, Julia and Pyke ask Robin for help. Robin is loving her time with Mary since meeting her recently but she’s nding that there is so much more to being a mother than she ever realised.
And Robin may soon nd Mary needs her more than ever before as disturbing links between Puss and the case emerge. TVS
