Restless, Mariah appears to be falling in love with Tessa. Plus: Same-sex rocky roads.
Mariah knows she may be betraying Devon but feels powerless to stop the connection between her and Tessa.
Mariah says she is happy with her life but what she says and what she’s thinking appear to be two very different things. She says she’s enjoying her blossoming romance with Devon but recently con ded to a sympathetic Tessa that she’s not sure exactly what she wants out of life.
Buoyed by memories of a previous close encounter with Tessa (Cait Fairbanks), Mariah (Camryn Grimes) has been rattled by an unexpected wave of romantic feelings for her new best friend and during a trip to San Francisco with Devon (Bryton James) and Tessa’s boyfriend Noah (Robert Adamson), Mariah found herself reacting awkwardly to Tessa and Noah’s public displays of affection. Finally, alone with Tessa, Mariah confessed that while she liked Devon, she was struggling with who she was and what she wanted. Indicating that she’s wrestling with her sexuality, Mariah answered Tessa’s promise to help her any way she could by tenderly caressing and kissing Tessa.
Despite Mariah’s subsequent awkward reaction, Tessa assured her she wasn’t bothered by the moment and, reminding her that they’re with two great guys, suggested they lock away the kiss and forget about it.
Mariah tried to do just that when she told Devon she loved him and seduced him but now she’s back in Genoa City, she’s become irresistibly drawn to Tessa, whose own feelings for Mariah are also growing. The situation has left both girls feeling nervous, especially when Devon caught them holding hands. Unsure of what was happening between them, the women brushed off Devon’s questions, with Mariah later assuring her boyfriend that she was committed to him and there was nobody else in her life.
Continuing to nervously watch Tessa and Noah sharing intimate moments, Mariah knows she may be betraying Devon but feels powerless to stop the connection between her and Tessa.
If the women eventually forge a romantic relationship, Mariah will be risking not only hurting Devon but also damaging the strong bond they’ve developed.
Tessa also risks hurting Noah and this could pave the way for incurring Victor’s (Eric Braeden) wrath, something Tessa has secretly dreaded from the moment she met the controlling tyrant.
Tessa may also ruin other relationships she’s developed, due to her secrecy, and both women know they’ll have to answer a lot of uneasy questions if they choose to progress their relationship. All of which could be crucial if they want to forge a path towards their own happiness. TVS
