The posh-sounding Englishman can be rather naughty behind the wheel. He has incurred more than one speeding ne in recent times and, like others on these pages, nearly had his licence revoked temporarily.
On his way to perform on a radio show, he was caught doing 160km/h in his Saab and was consequently given a $480 ne and had to attend a hearing. Fortunately, the actor’s charm came in handy both at the scene and during his day in court. He reportedly apologised immediately when pulled over.
“All that I can do is say I’m very sorry for being such a fool to drive so fast,” he said outside court. “I thought disquali cation was a strong possibility ... I am very grateful to the bench for their decision not to disqualify me.” It seems he and his husband Elliott Spencer both like to get places quickly (see opposite).
