AT WAR WITH HILARY

There’s no shortage of people whose lives Hilary has made miserable but with this many enemies it won’t be long before someone strikes back

TV Soap - - Inside -

There’s no shortage of people who Hilary has hurt, so it won’t be long until one hits back, on The Young and the Restless.

A brazen egotist and self-promoter, Hilary Hamilton may be beloved as a tabloid TV queen who dishes the dirt for her salivating audience but in doing so, the host of The Hilary Hour on GC Buzz TV regularly upsets those she loves to demean, denigrate and humiliate.

Recent examples of Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) take-noprisoners attitude towards unleashing every lthy scandal she gets her hands on have included Brash & Sassy powerbroker Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) who was widely pilloried and humiliated when Hilary aired salacious footage of Victoria having a clash with Ben Hochman (Ben Hermes) over their sexual romp and his bid to steal her company out from under her.

Fighting back, Victoria attacked Hilary for recording the footage from the shadows without her permission and threatened payback unless she took steps to rectify the wrong.

Another of Hilary’s favourite targets is also getting madder with her. Since taking a job as Hilary’s assistant, Mariah (Camryn Grimes) has been her boss’s relentless whipping girl, demeaned as the office gopher and sabotaged every time she

tries to advance her career at GC Buzz TV.

After hooking up romantically with Hilary’s ex-husband Devon (Bryton James), Mariah has felt Mrs Hamilton’s wrath more strongly. Recently, Hilary has gone out of her way to mess with Mariah and Devon’s relationship, clearly allowing her unresolved jealousy at Devon being with another woman to ourish uncontrollably. Naturally, being in close proximity to Hilary everywhere she turns is grating on Mariah.

Even allies are turning against Hilary. For a while, Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) enjoyed a steamy, no-stringsattached sexual liaison with a provocative Hilary but her ongoing mistreatment of his friend Lily (Christel Khalil) has left him seething. Jordan has developed romantic feelings for Lily and, despite Hilary’s voracious efforts to keep him interested, Jordan has nally dumped her, unprepared to put up with her shenanigans any longer.

Lately, everyone has been making it perfectly clear how much they detest Hilary’s actions and behaviour and such comments are usually an ominous sign that the antagonist is headed for a fall. Perhaps, it will be a literal fall in Hilary’s case. Or maybe a more blatant assault characterised by a bashing or even a shooting bid. Then again, any of the aggrieved parties could initially opt to send Hilary a warning sign by taking legal manoeuvres to rein her in. But whatever happens, the situation isn’t looking good for Hilary. TVS
