Walford’s residents pick up the pieces after the explosion disaster but the pain for many isn’t over yet
The London borough of Walford is a shell of its former self following the gas explosion disaster that sent re and destruction raining down on the Walford in Bloom ower festival event. One life was tragically lost and countless others are now hanging by a thread.
With grief pervading the community, one resident’s guilt over their involvement in the events becomes burdensome, forcing them to face some unpleasant demons from the past.
Meanwhile, others are looking forward as Kush, realising how lucky he is to be alive, decides to embrace life to the fullest. More in love with Denise than ever, Kush throws all caution to the wind and asks Denise to move in with him. To Kush’s horror, Denise shuts the idea down without explanation, prompting an argument between the couple.
Storming away from Denise, Kush suddenly suffers from crippling physical debilitation, perhaps relating to injuries he may have received in the disaster. Worriedly watching the scene unfold, Sonia and Kim realise that Kush is ailing but before they can react, Kush crashes to the ground in cardiac arrest!
With Kush rushed to hospital where he ghts for his life, Denise is in emotional agony, guilt-ridden and certain that her words and the argument are to blame for Kush’s condition.
And at the Taylors’, the devastation surrounding Bernadette’s miscarriage during the disaster is all-consuming as the tormented teenager begs her mother Karen to let her visit the baby’s body in hospital. Instead, Karen denies Bernadette’s request, visiting her lost granddaughter alone and making a drastic decision that leaves Bernadette in pieces. TVS
