Chaos on the Cobbles

The residents of Weatherfield find their lives in an uproar as stunning events begin to conspire against them

TV Soap - - Cable Guide -

For months, Eva Price has been carefully plotting her revenge on her cheating ancé Aidan Connor after discovering that he was sleeping with her best friend Maria. However, Eva’s grand plan to unleash payback on Aidan during their lavish wedding has taken an unforeseen turn following Aidan’s confession of the affair on the morning of the nuptials.

The shocking moment precipitated an array of dangerous events at the wedding including Eva and Maria’s cat ght in a water fountain but in the aftermath Eva has a critical decision to make.

Shell-shocked by the heartfelt sincerity in Aidan’s words during his confession, Eva has to acknowledge that she has always loved him and still does and must decide whether she can forge a future with him.

She’s also been growing closer to her revenge co-conspirator Adam Barlow who has his own grievances with Aidan and the chemistry between them is palpable, leaving Eva with her heart torn in two. Whatever she decides regarding her revenge and the men in her life, one thing’s for certain: Eva hates Maria and isn’t going to let her escape punishment for making her life a misery.

Adding to the wedding drama and its aftermath is the fact that the planned double wedding ceremony has also impacted on the other couple planning to marry, Aidan’s father Johnny and Jenny.

Everything seemed to be on track for Jenny to become Mrs Connor when the nuptials were suddenly thrown into doubt by Rita’s health woes. After weeks of suffering from lapses of memory, Rita endured a debilitating turn for the worse resulting in her being hospitalised.

Scared for the beloved woman she’s always thought of as a mother, Jenny has kept a bedside vigil for Rita but further devastation hits Rita when she’s diagnosed with a brain tumour. In an instant Rita is faced with an unenviable choice, to undergo treatment or allow nature to take its course. Caught in the middle, Jenny and Johnny’s future happiness is threatened.

Danger also clouds Michelle’s future as her stalker ordeal comes to a head. Plagued by a stalker’s harassment for weeks, Michelle has no idea that the perpetrator is her ex-lover Will Chatterton who’s been making her and Robert’s lives a nightmare. Will is increasingly pushed to more explosive extremes to tear apart Michelle and Robert’s relationship and when Michelle nally discovers what Will has been doing to her, she is plunged into a life-or-death situation from which an unlucky victim doesn’t emerge unscathed.

Escaping from harm has also been important to Andy Carver who’s been held captive in a basement dungeon by the deranged Phelan for eight months. Despite his recent attempts to ee Phelan’s clutches, Andy remains at Phelan’s mercy as the unhinged builder goes to more crazy lengths to silence Andy about his crimes.

Meanwhile, newlyweds Mary and Norris are also hoping to stay publicly silent about the fact that their recent wedding was a sham to help them win a competition for a married couple. Those hopes are thrown into doubt when mysterious newcomer Colin arrives on the Street. They panic to learn he’s a TV presenter who invites them to appear on a show he hosts but soon it appears he may not be all he seems.

Finally, Billy and Todd’s happy family relationship with Summer is thrown into turmoil when sinister secrets from Billy’s past are revealed, threatening to tear the lovers and their little girl apart. Ultimately, Billy’s secrets will also embroil another family on the Street, ensuring that lives are changed forever. TVS
