Zoe and Dan’s Bite Club kiss gets awkie
Enduring and then surviving a great white shark attack together has created an unbreakable bond between police colleagues ex-lovers Zoe and Dan. Although the trauma led to their break-up, they’ve now been reconciled three years later. However, forced to work together in the Homicide Unit, Zoe and Dan have found themselves at cross purposes.
Zoe (Ash Ricardo) may be intent on moving on in her new relationship with Kristof (Damian Walshe-Howling, below), the psychologist who treated and healed her during her recovery, but Dan (Todd Lasance, right, with Ash) is equally determined to win back her love. Becoming unnerved by Dan’s pursuit, Zoe contemplated transferring to the Federal Police but ultimately changed her mind, a move she feared she’d regret when he breached her personal boundaries. With their relationship under incredible strain, Zoe makes a shocking decision to avoid Dan forever, choosing to accept Kristof’s marriage proposal after he drops to one knee in frustrated response to Dan making moves on the woman he loves! Wasting no time, Zoe tells Dan she’s marrying Kristof and, realising he’ll lose her if he doesn’t act fast, he goes to great lengths to show her how he feels. When that doesn’t go to plan, Dan fears he may have lost Zoe for good this time.
Luckily for him, a harmless conversation regarding the serial killer case they’re investigating sparks a stolen but tender kiss. Startled by what’s happened, they’re anxious to avoid addressing the moment and bury themselves in investigating the grisly case of a wealthy couple murdered on their yacht.
They forge on, pretending the kiss meant nothing, Zoe going ahead with her wedding plans and Dan seeking solace with his Bite Club friends, including Pia (Jessica Napier). Moving on quickly, Dan sleeps with Pia to forget all about Zoe… but that’s harder than he thought. Since the kiss, Zoe’s back under his skin and he just can’t shake her from his thoughts...
