The Sweet One:
ASHLEY (Eileen Davidson) & NEIL (Kristoff St. John)
Friends since Neil rst came to Genoa City and started working alongside her at Jabot Cosmetics in 1991, he and Ashley have happilly worked and socialised together – with only a brief but abortive hint (in 2010) of the platonic relationship turning romantic, until recently. They have many common interests including big brains and multiple marriages (he has ve, she has seven) and are now comforting each other through their respective troubles. Most recently Neil has offered his shoulder as Ashley struggled with mum Dina’s (Marla Adams) illness and brother Jack’s (Peter Bergman) paternity search; while Ashley has given him consolation over Hilary’s death – and Lily (Christel Khalil) being blamed for it. Developing newfound affection for each other, these two are also taking the slow and tender path to romance after a sweet dinner date that came complete with music, slow dancing and a soft kiss. Since then, the affection has ramped up with Neil proving an expert stress-reliever as Ashley plots to dethrone an incapable Billy as Jabot CEO. In pursuing the romance the usually cautious pair is choosing to keep growing feelings under wraps. Eventually, the affair will be made public and when it is, Jack will surely protest loudly against it, citing their betrayal of him as Ashley’s family and Neil’s his best friend. Billy won’t be too happy about it, either, and the consequences may contribute to Ashley’s con rmed departure from GC later this year...
