Teacher murder case
■ A MAN was this week extradited to NSW after being arrested in Queensland over the 2015 murder of Sharon Edwards.
Mrs Edwards, a 55-year-old mother, grandmother, and teacher, was reported missing on March 17, 2015. She was last seen the evening prior when she arrived at her Grafton home after dinner with friends.
Following investigations, Queensland Police detectives arrested a 61-year-old man at a home at Redcliffe, Queensland, at 1pm on Tuesday. He appeared at Brisbane Magistrates Court, where Strike Force Burrow investigators applied for and were granted his extradition to NSW.
The man travelled with detectives to Tweed Heads Police Station where he was charged with murder.
The accused then faced Tweed Heads Local Court around 3pm. As bail was not applied for, Mr Edwards is expected to remain in custody until his next court appearance in Lismore on August 22.
It is believed he has not yet entered a plea.
