Bid to curb crime

THE State Govern­ment will throw $13 mil­lion at a pro­gram aimed at re­duc­ing the num­ber of adult pris­on­ers re-of­fend­ing on their re­lease.

The move means of­fend­ers will re­ceive treat­ment shortly af­ter sen­tenc­ing as part of the roll-out of 10 High In­ten­sity Pro­gram Units across the state. Cor­rec­tive Ser­vices NSW will cre­ate more than 80 jobs to de­liver pro­grams to more than 1200 in­mates serv­ing sen­tences six months or less.
