I READ with interest the article Tweed’s plan to save the koalas (Aug 30, 2017)

I note this article does not give credit where credit is due. The local State MP, Geoff Provest, is the person who has pushed long and hard for this to come to fruition. It was not Tweed Shire Council or Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary pushing for this, it was our National Party State MP Geoff Provest. Just remember Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is in Queensland.

To simply say the NSW Government shows a total lack of respect on the part of the reporter for the person responsible for ensuring this project has gotten off the ground.

The article in our August 30 edition was a follow-up to

our front page story on Saturday (Aug 26) about the announcement, in which Mr Provest was acknowledged and NSW Environment Minister Gabrielle Upton extensively quoted. We ran a follow-up article due to the significance of the announcement. —Editor
